Among all spices, black pepper is well known as a distinctive spice worldwide. It is also known as the ‘King of spices ’ and widely used as a ‘hot’ cooking spice and seasoning in cuisines worldwide. Black Pepper is native to the South Indian Malabar coastal area and the wetter part of Sri Lanka.
It comes from the berries of the pepper plant. Generally, refers to black pepper which is the main product of pepper. The Black pepper, green pepper and white pepper are the same fruit, the difference lies in their color which reflects the varying stages of development and processing methods.
